Out on the lone Prairie??

Santa was here for Wed. and Thursday, he got out Deere John and rode around for a while. Now it looks like there was a farm tractor with mower out making hay! There's also patches of brown where the grass seed hasn't managed to sprout through the straw, so it looks like we need a baler to come over.

Don't anyone tell my sister, but I'm gonna try to make that Crock Pot Peanut Cluster recipe she sent to me for the Mothers' Day Dinner at church tonight. See, I kinda put up a big fuss about what she was trying to do to me by sending that recipe, and she got all apologetic, which is highly unusual for a person of her uppityness. So I guess I should maybe share it with you all. Or maybe I should try it first in case she gave me the wrong ingredients so I'd get sick if I tried to sample it or hide it from Santa so I could have it all if it was great.

I just read that. Wow, what tricky sentences I can come up with when I really try!

So here it is:

Crock Pot Peanut Clusters

2 -15 oz Cans Peanuts (salted)
1 pkg (11.5) Milk Choc Morsels
1 bar German Choc
1 pkg White Almond Bark

Place peanuts in bottom of crock pot.
Layer all the choc on top of peanuts (break up German Choc Bar and Almond Bark).
Cover and cook on low for two hours –DO NOT remove lid & DON'T stir during the two hours.
Choc will look like nothing has happened, but after two hours choc will be melted.
Stir to combine and scoop onto waxed paper with teaspoon or tablespoon
(depending on the size clusters you wish).
Cool and store at room temp.

OK, I'm done being a good pal for now. Have to go to the store for ingredients!! Too bad they didn't have crock pots out on the lone prairie in the olden days.....

  1. This sounds good. Love to see some pictures of your finished goodies. You know, before they're all gone!

  2. Oops - fortunately I didn't take them all, so will take a pic before I eat the remaining globs! They're hiding in the fridge.
